What started out as a bit of probing to see if all was well beneath the paint ended up with a major paint strip and sanding job to reveal a lovely laminated centreboard.
I can't quite get rid of the paint in the grain and there have been some serious cracks in it which are quite visible so I am in two minds; should I coat it in resin and then paint it again? or just leave a clear gelcoat on it?

Claear definately, the naked-wood look is definately better!
Yes I think you're right.
I think I'm going to give it a try with the just the clear epoxy and see how it turns out.
